A walk-in is not a bigger refrigerator. It is cold storage sized to your menu, your ticket volume, and how often that door opens. Buy the wrong box and you pay for it every night in lost product, iced coils, and a compressor that dies early. We sell and set commercial walk-in coolers and freezers for restaurants, bars, breweries, catering kitchens, schools, and hotels. Then we service them. That is the reason to buy from us: the company that quotes the box is the company that shows up when it fails.

 

When a walk-in is the right buy Reach-ins are fine until prep, delivery days, and rush service outgrow them. You need a walk-in when: - Product will not fit in the reach-ins without stacking and blocking airflow - You are receiving cases, kegs, sheet pans, or bulk protein - The door on the current box is opened constantly and temps will not recover - An outdoor box is rotting at the floor or leaking at the seams - You are opening a kitchen and the menu needs real holding space, not a leftover size Cooler, freezer, or combo depends on what you store. Meat, dairy, and produce do not belong in the same load calc as ice cream and frozen protein. We spec that before panels go up. ---

 

What actually makes a walk-in hold The catalog size is the least important number. A box holds when the load is calculated for what goes in it, how often the door opens, indoor vs outdoor conditions, floor or no floor, and the power and drain at the site. Skip that and you get warm corners, ice on the coil, and a compressor that cannot catch up. That is why cheap out-of-state boxes get expensive. The door does not seal in your opening. The condensing unit is undersized for a Missouri summer. Nobody local will touch the warranty on a Saturday. We scope the work, look at the site, anticipate the box traffic, the product held the concrete pad, drain, power, and airflow with the every quote. If the site cannot support the box, we tell you before you buy it.​
